The Holocaust Survivor Program helps improve the quality of life for Holocaust survivors in the Tampa Bay area by providing critically needed, in-home care, emergency financial assistance, case management services, prescription drug and medical assistance funds, transportation, cleaning services, support groups, social events, and other essential services to prevent out-of-home placement.

  • Home Care – enabling survivors to remain in their own homes, adding a measure of dignity to their lives.
  • Socialization – providing support groups as well as monthly social gatherings.
  • Religious Celebrations – offering opportunities to celebrate the Jewish holidays in a welcoming and communal setting.
  • Emergency Funds – available for survivors who qualify via income and asset criteria, these funds range from helping with home emergencies such as eviction or utility shut-off, to critical medical supplies.
  • Financial Management – providing additional support unique to Holocaust survivors such as restitution applications, compensation, and additional financial matters.

The Florida Center for Survivors of Torture (FCST) serves survivors of political and state-sponsored torture living in Tampa Bay and Miami-Dade through an intensive case management and strength-based, client-centered model. The goals of the program are to increase self-sufficiency and self-efficacy and to support survivors in their healing process. We assist survivors in rebuilding their lives and work to empower them through a community-based approach. FCST is one of 31 federally funded torture rehabilitation programs in the United States and is the only center in the state of Florida. FCST is accredited by the International Rehabilitation Council for Victims of Torture (IRCT) and is a proud member of the National Consortium for Torture Treatment Programs (NCTTP).
