Children's Program
Temple New Jerusalem is fully committed to the youth. At TNJ, our Rabbi Michael Stepakoff and Rebbetzin Tara Stepakoff take pride in the age-old Jewish tradition to teach the children, and to raise up a new generation that is full of understanding, vision, and commitment to serve the Kingdom of God.
The youth at TNJ have a great time learning both the Old and New Covenant in fun, creative and innovative ways. The understanding of Biblical feasts & holidays such as Passover, Hanukkah, Purim, etc. is part of what we do. Godly wisdom is imparted through group discussion, skits, song and dance, arts and crafts and scriptural studies as well. We are cultivating and developing a closer relationship with Yeshua (Jesus) among our youth.
Depending on the numbers in attendance, our youth program is typically divided into three basic age groups:
Temple Tots for Infants-5
Temple Kids for ages 6-11
Temple Teenz, an active middle and high school youth group for ages 12-17
Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the Kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it – Mark 10:14-16
Our Vision
Our vision is to honor and uphold Jewish values and traditions while embracing the belief in Yeshua (Jesus) as the Messiah. We are committed to creating a welcoming environment for Jewish and non-Jewish believers to grow in faith, celebrate our shared heritage, and experience the transformative power of God's love.
We recognize and joyfully celebrate the High Holidays, central to the Jewish tradition. These sacred times allow us to unite in worship, reflection, and celebration, deepening our spiritual connection and sense of community. Whether through the solemn reflection of Yom Kippur, the joyful gatherings of Sukkot, or the rich traditions of Passover, we seek to honor God and remember His faithfulness throughout history.
Our vision includes:
- Instilling Faith: Teaching children and adults alike to know and believe in Yeshua as the Messiah, and to understand the power of the Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit).
- Spiritual Growth: Fostering an environment where spiritual growth is encouraged and nurtured through study, prayer, and community activities.
- Jewish Heritage: Celebrating and educating about Jewish customs, holidays, and traditions, ensuring our rich heritage is embraced and understood by all.
- Community and Family: Building a strong, supportive community rooted in love, respect, and mutual support, where everyone feels welcome and valued.
Through these practices, we aim to create a vibrant community that honors our traditions, grows in faith, and reflects God's love in all we do.
Mission
The classes are done in an easy and fun format, incorporating games, crafts, music as well as the importance of the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
